www.ncaa.org is the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) website and contains several links with information for prospective college students.

Eligibility & Recruiting provides information on how student-athletes can comply with NCAA bylaws in order to compete in intercollegiate athletics. It includes information on what high-school students need to do to be eligible to compete their first year in college, as well as guidelines that coaches and prospects must follow during the recruiting process.  For more detailed information see the "Eligibility Section" and "Recruiting Section" at the bottom of this page.

Compliance provides information on what member institutions can do to ensure that their athletics programs stay in compliance with NCAA bylaws. It includes resources on training and certification of compliance staff as well as coaches, as well as links to valuable resources such as the Legislative Services Database for the Internet (LSDBi) and the Compliance Assistant software.

 NCAA Clearinghouse contains information for student-athletes and parents interested in NCAA athletics at all levels.  It provides helpful hints, as well as the forms students need to download, to walk through the certification process.  Access the NCAA Clearinghouse Home Page directly or through www.ncaa.org at the Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse link.

The Eligibility Section of the NCAA website provides information on becoming and remaining eligible to compete in intercollegiate athletics. It includes information on the Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse, as well as guidelines for students who are foreign, home-schooled or disabled. It also contains links to resources that will help high-school students locate colleges and universities that sponsor their sport and compare graduation rates of schools they are considering.
 
All high-school athletes wishing to compete in college must register with the Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse. Information about the Clearinghouse can be found in the Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete. The NCAA national office does not handle initial-eligibility certifications. Please do not contact the NCAA national office with inquiries regarding an individual's initial eligibility status, including whether transcripts, student release forms, etc., were received or about when you will be cleared. The Clearinghouse maintains and processes all of the initial-eligibility certifications.

Beginning fall 2006, the NCAA Amateurism Certification Clearinghouse will be the processing center for determining the amateurism eligibility of domestic and international freshman and transfer prospective student-athletes for initial athletics participation at NCAA Divisions I and II member institutions.

The Recruiting Section of the NCAA website provides information for student-athletes and coaches on recruiting rules and regulations. It includes links to convenient sport-specific calendars as well as definitions of key recruiting-related terminology. Also included is a guide for student-athletes interested in transferring to another college or university.
