A pair of Dixon High School graduates made a big impact recently as the Sacramento City College women's golf team won its first-ever state championship at Kings Country Club in Hanford.
Sac City rallied from a first-day deficit for a two-day score of 668, five strokes ahead of Bakersfield College (673).
Dixon product Kayla Riede led the Panthers with a score 155 (79-76). She took second in the individual standings behind Lynne Cowan of Sierra (77-75--152), a Davis resident.
Former Ram Michelle Bello tied for 20th overall at 176 (90-86).

The Panthers' title marked the first state championship by a Northern California school since the tournament's inception in 1995.
