Subject: Dixon High School - please
help!
Hopefully by now you've heard that
Athletic Director Girimonte and
Principal Chaidez have set aside
this
Saturday, February 6th at 9am
as a volunteer opportunity to clean
and hang banners at Dixon High
School.
We need your help!
Please let me know if you can spare
any time and help with this
project. I believe we have banners
that date back to the late 60's! I
understand that Mr. Girimonte
checked to see if the older banners
could be dry-cleaned, but
unfortunately they can't. So, we
will need to organize the banners,
clean them and hang them. In order
to complete this project, we need
the following items donated or
brought with you - again,
please reply to me and let me know
if you can help, or donate an item
to the effort - if you label your
item, I'll make sure it's returned
to you:
-
Lint
brushes (hoping this will help remove
old dust/cobwebs)
-
Clean cloths (that we can dampen to help
wipe some of the old dust/cobwebs off)
-
Irons (we need 2 more people to bring an
iron and ironing board)
-
Skill saw (we need 1 more person to
bring a skill saw and be responsible for
operating it)
-
Tables (we need a few portable tables
that we can use to organize banners,
prep banners for hanging, and to operate
the skill saws - unless the people
bringing the skill saws have some sort
of setup already for the skill saw)
-
2-4 small buckets
-
garbage bags
-
scissors
-
may
have forgotten something - not sure at
this point! Will let you know if I think
of it!
We are asking that small children not
come with you. If you have older
children (9 and up) who want to help,
can follow directions and stay by your
side - then they're welcome to attend as
long as you maintain responsibility for
them. We can't have kids running around
and goofing off - we all know this, but
it's important the kids understand
what's expected of them. Thanks for
your understanding. Remember, all
individuals volunteering will be
required to sign a waiver. Lastly, if
you know of someone who's willing to
help and I've missed them on this email,
please feel free to forward to them.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Best,
Kim
